Just to prove that all that surfing you’ve been doing over Summer is not in vain, March is shaping up to be the Festival of the Surf. The first Saturday kicks off with the BGSR 2009 season and then the following Saturday (14th March) sees us back down at the beach for the return of the Bondi Interclub Challenge. This is where BGSR teams up with the guys at Bondi Boardriders for a day of waves, music, food and fun.
Each team has a guy and a girl (paired off in a highly sophisticated, scientific, copyright-pending system of ranking – best with worst and so on), who compete against another guy/girl team to take home the title. Anyone can win and all you have to do is register at the first BGSR comp.
But there is a catch. Numbers are limited to 12 surfers from each club, so get your name down early.
And if you’re not planning to surf, make sure you come down and watch the action – just ask Jo Leaver how much fun that can be!
